In early 2011, I moved to the Cloud Data Services group within Microsoft’s SQL Azure organization. Before moving I was part of the Microsoft Sync Framework group. There I had the opportunity to help start a new cloud service called SQL Azure Data Sync. This is a Windows Azure based service that allows organizations to extend their data from their on-premises SQL Server to the cloud and then keep the changes in sync between the two locations. This allows people to start building cloud based data applications without having to immediately shut down or migrate their existing on-premises applications.

During that time I got hooked on creating new services. That is why I made the change to the Cloud Data Services group where we help our partners build new services in the cloud. With this change I thought it would be worth creating a fresh new blog that I can use to track the new and interesting things I learn as I work with our partners building new services in the cloud.

I hope you enjoy this blog and I look forward to your comments and questions. If you would like to contact me, you can do so through Cotega.
